Little Tokyo, also known as Little Tokyo Historic District, is located in Downtown Los Angeles and is home to the largest Japanese-American population in North America. It was declared a National Historic Landmark District in 1995. You will find cultural hubs within the Japanese American National Museum, nature with James Irvine Japanese Garden, food and shopping within the Japanese Village Plaza (with Nijiya Market) and Little Tokyo Mall, performing arts around the Aratani Theatre, and religion within the Koyasan Buddhist Temple.
Enjoy the myriad of art displays across the city walls, and with outdoors art from the Museum of Contemporary Art’s extension.
