Niigata held the Niigata Taiko Festival in 2020 with taiko troupe Kodo as a guest performer. The event combined the powerful performances of the prefecture’s taiko groups with projection mapping to create a brand new taiko experience.
There are over 100 taiko groups in Niigata. Kodo is the most globally known professional group among them, having performed all over the world.
