β Fascinating Japanese history π―π΅π
The flame passed through the Yoshinogari Historical Park – a quaint village and an archeological site in Kanzaki CIty which dates back to the 3rd and 4th BC.
Due to its size – almost 70 hectares – and the importance of the ancient settlement there, it is considered a major archeological site.
β The flame of hope π
HARAMAKI Kazuhiro was a torchbearer in his hometown Kamimine Town 57 years ago during Tokyo 1964. Now mayor of his ward, today he returned as a torchbearer but this time for Tokyo 2020. Haramaki wants to show people his age – especially those who are fighting illnesses and injuries – there is hope. β¨
With the flame in one hand, and a walking stick in the other, Haramaki was greeted by the loud sounds of taito drums and cheering from the small crowd.
