Kusamakura Hiking Course attracts visitors from both inside and outside Kumamoto. The path remains much as it looked in Natsume’s time (setting for Natsume Soseki’s novel “Kusamakura”), surrounded in a lush bamboo forest and paved in well-worn stones.
