This time, I walked around the shopping street in Abira Town. Abira Town is about 20 minutes east of New Chitose Airport by car. This town is the first large-scale cheese factory in Hokkaido and is known to the people of Hokkaido as a cheese town. Also, there was a big earthquake here in 2018, but the old building remained safely. There was a popular restaurant where you can eat delicious cheese and ice cream, and it was safe here as well. I also hope that the day will come when many tourists will visit this town again.

今回は、安平町の早来商店街を歩いてみました。安平町は新千歳空港から車で約20分東のところにあります。早来は北海道で最初に大規模なチーズ工場が建てられた場所で、「はやきたチーズ」として道民にはよく知られています。さらに、東京オリンピック組織委員会の橋本聖子会長の生まれ故郷です。ここは2018年の胆振東部地震の震源地に近い場所ですが、古い建物は無事に残っていました。美味しいチーズやアイスクリームなどを食べることができる人気のレストランも無事です。この町に再び多くの観光客が訪れる日が来ることを願っています。
