Day 22 was my first day in Hokkaido! Hokkaido is massive and took me 3 and a half weeks in total to traverse. I was anxious about cycling Hokkaido and for good reason. It’s huge and has some nasty winds… the adventure begins on day 22.
I took a very early ferry to get across from Aomori to Hakodate. Then rode 160km along the coast to Yakumo.
