Spring is one of the best times to visit Japan because of Cherry Blossom (Sakura) Season. Cherry blossoms can be found everywhere in Japan–from the bustling city of Tokyo to the smaller, quiet towns in Japan. Whether you’re just visiting or living here, it truly is a beautiful experience to see the cherry blossoms.

We intended to show you a few spots in Tokyo today but we were only able to go to one because we’re trying to avoid crowds. SOOO we ended up going to one spot in Tokyo and we’ll show you that cherry blossoms are also found and just as beautiful in the smaller towns in Japan.

First stop — Shinjuku Gyoen National Park (You guessed it! Located in Shinjuku, Tokyo) They just recently reopened and now require online reservation or pre purchased tickets. If you’re in the area and have an hour or two to spare or to just get a quick getaway from the “city”–You should definitely come here!

Last stop — We head over to a smaller town in Japan called Kashiwadai. This spot is just one of the MANY parks in this area and the cherry blossoms here DO. NOT. DISAPPOINT.

There are various kinds of cherry blossoms, some that bloom early (check out our video linked below) and some that bloom late March and early April. Cherry blossoms are a HUGE deal here because they don’t last very long and they are like a symbol of a new beginning.

I hope you enjoyed this quick video and a glimpse of cherry blossom season here in Japan.
