I love the end of winter in Japan! The weather is getting warmer and beautiful flowers start to appear. And the first flowers to bloom in Japan after winter are plum blossoms! We can them Ume in Japan.

They are so beautiful and they really look like Sakura. 😍

The best spot to see Ume blossoms in Tokyo is probably Yushima Tenmangu Shrine (also called Yushima Tenjin shrine). It’s located in the east side of Tokyo, not too far from Ueno park. Here’s the exact location of the shrine:

The best time to see the Ume flowers is from the end of February to the beginning of March. If you are in Tokyo in this period, make sure to pay Yushima Tenmangu Shrine a visit.
