Rurisan Iou-Temple, which is familiar to Yamanaka Yakushi, is located a short time up from the lower girder bridge of the Ochiai River, and is worshiped as one of the three major pharmacists in Japan along with Crab Yakushi and Horaiji as an insect-sealing pharmacist.
Yakushi Nyorai is said to be Gyoki. The legend of the fox plaster that has been handed down in this temple also appears in “Kiso Kaido Sequel Knee Kurige Roku Hen” by Jippensha Ikku.

This is an old story of this temple.
Once upon a time, there was a nice Osho who was familiar with Mr. Zuiton and everyone at Iouji Temple in the mountains. At one point, when I was cleaning the garden, I heard some kind of painful crying from the back of the main hall. No matter what happened, when I turned around, one fox was groaning in pain. When I gently lifted the fox and looked at it, I found a big thorn stuck in my leg.
Mr. Zuiton pulled out a big thorn, saying, “It would have been so bloody and painful,” and the fox returned to the mountain, happily pulling a kid.
Then, it was a windy evening for a while. Someone slams the front door all the time. When Mr. Zuiton opens the door, the fox sits a little during this time. “Mr. Osho. Thank you very much for this time. Thanks to that, my wounds have healed completely. Mr. Osho seems to be in trouble because he has a backache, so thank you, let me teach you how to make a plaster that works well.” The fox taught me how to make plaster repeatedly, repeatedly, and carefully.
“First, grind the root of Arisaema serratum. Grind and mix the psyllium seeds and the leaves of the foxtail. Next, add mochi and knead well. Apply oil to a piece of cloth and it hurts. If you put it in the place, you can get rid of the pain immediately. ”
Mr. Zuiton was soaked in sweat that he was told this story over and over again in his bed. Mr. Zuiton said that the fox nodded at his bedside. “Is it a dream?” Even when I woke up brightly, Mr. Zuiton remembered how to make plasters well, so soon the story of Mr. Zuiton’s well-acting plaster became very popular and I bought it from a distance. Some people even come to.
