Daniel’s Travel Vlog
This video is part of a series of videos of domestic travel within Japan to share with you the breathtaking beauty of Japanese landscape from the air.
Welcome onboard Japan Airlines Boeing 767-300 JA612J on a flight from Osaka-Itami to Tokyo-Haneda with stunning footages of the long approach to runway 16L on the new routing over the center of Tokyo.
This Kai-Tak style approach is only used during afternoon peak hours from 3-6 PM and winds from Southerly directions and is nothing short of spectacular.
This approach has been introduced end of March 2020 in view of the Tokyo Olympics to increase capacity through leading all inbound traffic over the center of Tokyo using parallel runways 16L and 16R for approach and runway 22 for departures to Western and Southern Japan.
The flight time for inbound flights from Western and Southern Japan has been increased dramatically by approximately 20 minutes through this new routing.
