This time, I walked around Makomanai Meitengai in Sapporo. Meitengai means a place where good shops are gathered. This shopping street is about a 10-minute walk from Makomanai Station. In 1972, the Sapporo Winter Olympics were held, and the main venue was Makomanai. Since then, the development of this town has progressed. However, with the aging of the population, the bustle of the past is no longer there. There aren’t many shops here that can be called a shopping street, but old-fashioned liquor stores, sushi restaurants, popular ramen restaurants, and cafes where locals gather are open.

今回は、札幌の真駒内名店街を歩いてみました。ここは地下鉄真駒内駅から徒歩で10分ほどの所にあります。1972年に真駒内をメイン会場として札幌冬季オリンピックが開催されました。それ以降、真駒内の町は発展しますが、近年は住民の高齢化が進み、かつての賑わいはありません。ここは商店街と呼べるほどのお店はありませんが、昔ながらの酒屋に寿司屋、人気のラーメン屋、地元民が集うカフェが天気に営業しています。
