When I learned about WWII in school, they told us about the Hiroshima bombing. It may have been my teacher but as a teenager I didn’t truly grasp the tragedy it was. The museum was difficult but perfectly set up. If you’re ever in Japan, it’s well worth the trip.
As an American who had family who fought in the war, but weren’t on this mission, I’d still like to apologize. Even though some people say I “don’t have to do this, I just want to say I’m sorry that happened.
That being said, Hiroshima is a beautiful “modern” city today. The city has come back like a phoenix rising from the ashes. There’s a lot to see. One day wasn’t nearly enough.
