Nankan Tea House (南関御茶屋跡)
It was completed around New Year 1852 and was used by the feudal lord to rest and stay overnight when he was on his way to work or on patrol in Edo. Normally, tea house and accommodation were separate buildings, but in the case of Nankan Tea House, it seems that one building was called both “ochaya” (tea house) and “okakuya” (accommodation)..
