This morning I planned to walk through Maizuru Park to show the plum trees which are coming into bloom, and I did do that, BUT we also had a snowfall last night. This made the walk extra-special – we saw snow, castle walls and plum blossoms! 雪と梅の花

Who are you?
Nick Szasz, a Canadian who has lived in Japan for 34 years. Thirty years in Fukuoka, three in Tokyo and one in Osaka. I’m the founder and publisher of Fukuoka Now magazine, a monthly printed bilingual freely distributed magazine about Fukuoka and Kyushu for international residents and visitors from overseas. Why are you doing this?
After twenty consecutive years of publishing a printed magazine about Fukuoka I decided to branch out into video. I love Kyushu, walking and cameras, so this seems like a fun project. Additionally, Fukuoka and Kyushu still get less exposure overseas and I hope that I can, even in this small way, bring the world to Kyushu. So sit back, relax, and let me do the walking and talking.
What are your plans for Kyushu Live?
There will be a period of trial and error. My first goal is to do about 20 walks in different parts of Fukuoka City and as soon as possible and then expand to other areas of Kyushu pending audience reaction and support via YouTube and Patreon (hint! hint!).

この企画の動機
20年以上にわたって印刷媒体を月刊誌として発行してきたが、ビデオも媒体の一つとして取り組みことにした。大好きな九州をカメラ片手に散策することは楽しそうだしね。福岡・九州はまだ、海外での認知度は低いけれど、規模は小さくても世界への発信ができればと考えてる。作り込んだビデオではないから、ゆっくりリラックスして楽しんで。
Kyushu Liveでの計画は？
まだ手探り状態だけど、とりあえずの目標は、福岡市内を20箇所を撮ること。それから範囲を九州一円に広げていきたいと思っている。PATREON（ファンがクリエイターを直接支援できるサービス）でも登録しているので応援してね！
