I went hiking and for the first time brought my kids along with me. It’s not a very tall mountain and was great for them to start with. I am not sure if it is pronounced Mt. Shiro, or Mt. Jyou. The book says Mount Jyou, but Google says Mt. Shiro. It is called Mt. Jyou because there was Munakata’s Tsutagatake Castle on the top of the mountain, but in ancient times it was called Mt. Akama. The kanji for castle is 城 and can be pronounced jyou or shiro.
