The Alishan National Scenic Area (#阿里山#) is a mountain resort and nature reserve located in #Alishan# township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. For nature lovers, Alishan is a place for you! Take the unique #Alishan Forest Railway# ride to watch sunrise over Zhushan; admire the blooming sukuras during springtime; enjoy the invigorating fresh air in the jungle trail walk amidst the tall cypress trees and many more! A hiking trail at the end of the line leads to a majestic 2,700-year-old Taiwan Cypress tree. During cherry blossom season from March to May, the Alishan Forest Railway runs a special vintage steam train once a week. Fall is a popular time to visit, too.
