Yuzawa, Niigata: Snowboarding at Yuzawa Kogen and Kagura Snow Resort

Winter is officially here, and what better way to usher in the season than with a snowboarding trip to Niigata! Over the Christmas break, we spent three days snowboarding at Yuzawa Kogen and Kagura Snow Resort in Yuzawa. It wasn’t too crowded, and since it was our first time hitting the slopes since last season, it was good to warm up and get back into it!

Both areas are easy to reach from the station, with a lot of slope options for beginners and experts alike. Not only that, but Yuzawa Kogen is connected to the south side of GALA Yuzawa by ropeway, while Kagura Ski Resort is divided into three areas (Kagura, Tashiro and Mitsumata) and connected to Naeba Ski Resort via the world’s longest gondola, the Dragondola.
