Wanting to reignite my meditation practice, I took a trip to Koyasan, home to the Japanese Shingon School of Buddhism and the country’s largest cemetery, and the end of point of holy pilgramage. I stayed at the 赤松院 Sekishoin Temple which I’d highly recommend. There are 117 temples in Koyasan Town, many of which offer lodgings with Buddhist vegan meals and ceremonies included.
