It hardly ever snows in Positano or on the lower areas of the Amalfi Coast but if you can see snow on the mountaintops then it means there is probably snow nearby!
We drove to Monte Faito, (1131 metres high) which overlooks the gulf of Naples. It can also be reached by cable car from Castellamare. High up the mountain there was a good layer of snow and we drove up to the top to admire the views.
From Positano it took us just less than an hour to drive up there. We do not recommend this without winter tyres on the car if snow is forecast.
In the summer Monte Faito is a great place for trekking and hiking and in the autumn there is a big chestnut festival in the woods there.
The lookout point we visited at the end of the video was on the way to La Selva in Arola.
