We had another place in mind for lunch that would take about an hour to get to so we wrapped up our Kokusai/Heiwa Dōri excursion and hit the road to go north to Kinville.
Along the way we stopped a couple of times to stretch our legs and snoop around. A cluster of tombs caught his attention as did a small garbage truck parked in the corner of a lot. He asked me to stand next to it for perspective on just how small he found the truck to be. I suppose that when there’s a small area to be serviced there’s no need for huge trucks. This one was, as he put it, “so Okinawa!”
