Hokkaido History – The lost town of Kashima – a tour of the town beneath Lake Shuparo

Since the coalmines in Yubari closed, the population has quickly shrunk. One area lost all it’s citizens and they built a dam that flooded the where the town used to be. I September the old town emerges from the water and this year they held an open day for people to check it out.
