Among the many things to do in Chiang Mai, Thailand, how about a view from high above? That’s what you get at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a beautiful temple in the Doi Suthep mountain west of Chang Mai, popularly known as Doi Suthep as well. In this video, you’ll learn everything you need to know to plan a trip there. We close the day in Nimmanhaemin, or simply Nimman. It’s the digital nomad’s neighborhood, where many expats in Thailand choose to live. From the Maya mall to a walk on the streets, discover why this area attracts so many foreigners.
Chiang Mai was founded in 1296 and it’s the capital of Chiang Mai Province in northern Thailand. The name means “New City” in Thai. That’s because back then it became the new capital of the Lanna kingdom. The city was also very important historically. It’s strategically located on the Ping River (a major tributary of the Chao Phraya River), and close to major trading routes.

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world… stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he’s actually camera-shy, that’s why he’s behind the camera most of the time 😉
