【4K Town Walking Japan #290】Utsunoya SHIZUOKA 城镇漫歩 宇津ノ谷 静岡

Following the Tokaido from Shizuoka City to the west, we will find the village of Utsunoya, which stands quietly in front of the Utsunoya Pass. It’s not large, but along the well-maintained old highway, there are traditional houses and temples, and it even looks like a miniature garden. As we climb the hill, the pedestrian tunnel dug in the Meiji era is still in active use, and it seems to show off that it was an important transportation route that supported Japan until modern times. Let’s take a leisurely stroll along the mountain pass in early winter, which is rarely visited.
