宮城県仙台市の泉パークタウンで開催しているイルミネーションイベント、SENDAI光のページェント in 泉パークタウン 2020は、泉パークタウン・タピオや仙台ロイヤルパークホテル、仙台泉プレミアムアウトレットなどの商業施設や宿泊施設などが集まるメインストリートを中心にイルミネーションが装飾される冬の風物詩です。
杜の都冬の風物詩として人気がある定禅寺通りで開催する仙台光のページェントに先駆けて、毎年11月上旬に点灯開始となるこのイベントでは、メインストリートの街路樹を電球色のイルミネーションで装飾し、仙台ロイヤルパークホテル内のガーデンではランタンとイルミネーションを使用したロマンチックな装飾が施されています。
今まで誰もが経験した事のないウィルス感染症の感染拡大で、東北地方のみならず日本各地でイベント等が中止になり、寂しく暗い世の中となってしまった2020年ですが、ウィルスと戦う医療従事者や平穏な暮らしを取り戻そうと奮闘する全ての方々への感謝とエールを込めた光を灯そうと今年も開催する事としたそうです。
広い駐車場完備で公共交通機関を利用しなくても、買い物ついでに気軽に立ち寄れるイルミネーションイベントですので、クリスマスや正月に向けての買い物なども含めてこれからの季節はオススメの催し物です。
また、イルミネーションが一斉に消えて再点灯するスターライト・ウィンクも連日18:00～20:00まで1時間置きに実施されます。
新型コロナウィルス感染拡大防止に伴い新しい生活様式で実施しているイベントですので、新型コロナウイルス関連アプリ「MICA」｢COCOA」の活用や、手洗い・マスクの着用・ソーシャルディスタンスに留意して観覧するようにと公式サイトでは案内があります。
また、路上駐車を避けて泉パークタウン タピオ、仙台泉プレミアム・アウトレットの駐車場を利用するようにと案内もされています。

The main street where commercial facilities and accommodation facilities such as Izumi Park Town Tapio, Sendai Royal Park Hotel, and Sendai Izumi Premium Outlets are gathered is lit up with fantastic light.
Prior to the SENDAI Pageant of Starlight held on Jozenji-dori, this event will start lighting in early November every year. The roadside trees on the main street are decorated with light bulb-colored illuminations, and the garden inside the Sendai Royal Park Hotel is romantically decorated with lanterns and illuminations. In 2020, due to the spread of viral infections that no one has ever experienced, events and other events were canceled in various parts of Japan, creating a lonely and dark world. However, it is said that this year’s event will be held again to illuminate the light with gratitude and ale to the medical staff who fight the virus and all those who struggle to regain a peaceful life. It is an illumination event with a large parking lot and you can easily stop by while shopping without using public transportation, so it is a recommended event for the coming season, including shopping for Christmas and New Year. In addition, the Starlight Wink, in which the illuminations turn off all at once and turn on again, is held every hour from 18:00 to 20:00 every day.
