Ushimado is a port town facing the Seto Inland Sea in the eastern part of Okayama, and developed as a shipping hub during the Edo period. In recent years, it has been known as a base for marine sports. Once step into the back alley, many temples and shrines remain, and there are many traditional buildings, giving it a unique atmosphere reminiscent of the prosperity of the past. Although it is under the scorching sun of midsummer, let’s enjoy a walk in this scenic city.
