We made it to mainland Japan’s most southern point! Nearby, there is also a free campsite, so we got out our camping gear for a night of warm winter food and sleeping under the stars. Except…we had a bit of a camping fail and ended up having to sleep in the van. Nevertheless, cooking nabe was a great experience and despite being winter, the weather mostly held out for us.
