Thanks for watching;) In this video, I did not explain where I visited at all, so let me briefly tell you what Koyasan is. Mt. Koya (Koyasan) is a massive temple settlement that was established by a buddhist monk, Kukai (空海), in 819 here in Wakayama prefecture, Japan. There are about 120 temples in this town and 2/3 of the residents living here are monks. I honestly do not know the history of this holy place but it was worth visiting. I am currently working on the part 2 of this video which is about temple lodging. Yes, you can actually stay at an old temple and experience the life of buddhist monks if you’d like to.
