We could still take the bus up the mountain to the volcano Aso. We would have liked to climb further up the crater, but the volcano was too active. A great cloud of steam and gas was constantly rising. There was a continuous warning of an eruption. Nothing has happened.
After taking the necessary photos and videos (we have a Belgian in the group) we walked back to the visitor center for a cup of coffee. During a leisurely walk, enjoying the landscape and the cloud of smoke from the volcano in the background, the sky opened up further. An interesting peak emerged from the clouds. I assumed the view would be better from there and asked who wanted to join. Harry bite immediately. In the end, Wilfred still joined. We walked up the mountain at a good pace. The view was beautiful indeed. Upstairs the idea arose to try to walk to the valley. It seemed possible, but we ended up coming back halfway between the two bus stops. We decided to walk from there to the station. After almost 20 beautiful kilometers we reached the station in Aso.
