Kumamoto was hit by a massive earthquake about 2 years ago. Kumamoto Castle is one of the largest and most beautiful castles in Japan. We had 2 hours in Kumamoto to visit the castle. We had to take a taxi to the castle and went back by bus. We hardly had time to visit the castle. It turned out to be enough. The castle had suffered so much damage in the earthquake. It was still under restoration and only open on Sundays. Fortunately, there was a wedding at the castle. It was nice to see the traditionally colorfully dressed ladies and children.
