In this episode:
– walking through the Kagoshima famous Tennonkan arcade (天文館アーケード). It is the busiest part of the city – full with shops and restaurants. Tenmonkan means observatory – once upon a time there was such in the center of the city.
Also we tried the famous Kagoshima ramen (鹿児島ラーメン) and kurobuta gyoza (黒豚餃子). Kagoshima ramen is very different in taste from the rest of the Japanese ramens but it is delicious – may be one of the best!
It was also very interesting to find bags with volcanic trash in the center of the city. Despite the big cleaning the remnants of the big eruption from 18/8 were still ubiquitous!
We also saw the statue of a famous samurai and his wife (Kagoshima was the place of the last Samurai’s rebellion).
Finally we reached the Kagoshima Water Front and the kids had a lot of fun with the fountains! 🙂 Follow us on twitter:
