JR Hakata Station （JR博多駅), also known as JR Fukuoka Station is located in Fukuoka City in the western part of Japan, in Kyushu region. JR Hakata Station is the terminus for most of the Shinkansen lines originating from Shin Osaka and Tokyo but recently bullet trains have been extended to reach further western parts of Kyushu region such as Kumamoto.
JR Hakata Station, like most of the big city JR stations, is a large, noisy, lively and bustling station, with lot of people, restaurants and shopping arcades.
