JR Niigata Station (JR 新潟駅) is located in the Niigata prefecture, Japan. Niigata is exactly opposite to Tokyo, on the “other side” of the main Island of Honsu. This JR station is serviced by Joetsu Shinkansen and it takes about three hours to get to Niigata from Tokyo.

Niigata city is a great city visit, eat and explore. In summer it has excellent weather and in winter usually gets a lot of snow like Nagano. And it is not as crowded as Tokyo, so exploring the city is easy.

Tourists should try and visit the Sado Island in the Japan Sea, which is about two hours from the Niigata port terminal (Sado Kisen terminal) by boat.

Enjoy!!!
