Wild Camping in Japan (almost) Ichinose Kogen River Site #2

Welcome my Japan outdoors YouTube video where we explore and go wild camping in Okutama, deep in the Japanese Mountains at Ichinose Kogen, in Chichibu Tama Kai National Park. Chichibu is Saitama. Tama is Tokyo. Kai is Yamanashi (if you wondered) This site takes a little backpacking & hiking, but I’m sure you can do it! Just beware of bears! This part of Japan is notorious for the black bears.

This autumn camp took place in near the trailhead of Mount Kumotori in Chichibu Tama Kai. It wasn’t quite wildcamping as officially it is a campground but the sites aren’t roped off or designated as they are in most Japan Family Camping or Auto Camp spots. To me those types of camping grounds aren’t really fun. This is definitely more my style! Ichinose Kogen Campsite is great! I certainly love Yamanashi and driving through Okutama was beautiful.

Nothing like camping right on the riverbank! Japan outdoors is amazing. I live for Japan nature. I really do.

I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you for visiting RockEastwood Outdoors
