October saw the release of the results of an annual ranking of Japan’s 47 prefectures and regions. As part of the Regional Brand Survey 2020, conducted by Brand Research Institute, Inc., the over 30,000 respondents from across Japan were asked to grade each prefecture in terms of its 魅力, which can be translated into English as “attractiveness.”
In this video then, we take a closer look at the upper and lower end of the ranking to give us some hints as to what could make for the best regions in Japan to visit, in the future.
We also look at those regions which saw a significant improvement in their ranking since the 2019 survey, including one prefecture that finally managed to move up from 47th spot after being stuck at the bottom for a number of years.
