Only a short walk from Naminoue-gu is a serene garden, right in the heart of the city! In Wasaka, Naha is the beautiful Fukushuen Garden. The day I went there was no one around. No one at the ticket gate, no visitors – no one. I was surely disappointed. I did notice however that the gate was ajar. It was mid-day and I considered that maybe they were on a lunch break but immediately discarded that notion. They wouldn’t empty out the garden and chase visitors away just to grab a bento, would they?
