In today’s Japan Walking Tour series, I will be walking around Hiroshima Castle (広 島).

Hiroshima is located in the western part of the Japanese archipelago, known to foreign tourists through the atomic bomb event that devastated the city during World War II.

After Japan’s successful reconstruction efforts, today Hiroshima has grown into a popular tourist city with many interesting sights and activities for visitors.

Although it is a tourist city, Hiroshima still retains the ancient features of Japan. Especially the trips left an unforgettable impression on me.

Hiroshima Castle, also known as Carp Castle, is a prime example of a castle built on a plain in the city center as opposed to the castles above. hilltop and mountain top.

Its main house is five stories tall, and its campus is surrounded by a moat. Also on the grounds of the castle are a temple, some ruins and some reconstructed buildings of Ninomaru (second defensive circle).
