My Tokyo Diary

The 3rd day, we went to Samurai Museum in Shinjuku. The museum was really informative. It also displayed various kinds of authentic artifacts once used by Samurai warriors. My son wore the Samurai shogun costume, my husband wore a Samurai outfit and I wore the Japanese kimono. We ate lunch in one of the authentic Japanese restaurant. Bought convenient foods in Family Mart, and 7 eleven, Ate dinner in a Ramen restaurant.

We went to Meiji Shrine. The Uber ride was pretty cool. The shrine is located in Shibuya. It’s a Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Went for a short ride to the 2020 Summer Olympic stadium but was not able to enter because it was still under construction during that time. Just went to Shibuya and looked for the statue of Hachiko Hachi’s famous bronze statue located right in front of Shibuya Station’s Hachiko Exit, which was named after him as well. He was supposedly sitting here every day to wait for professor Ueno. Then we went to Shibuya crossing. Went to Starbucks where you can see the action in what you call the “Shibuya Scramble”.

Went to Akihabara again to shop for Gundams. Ate dinner in Maid Cafe. In these cafés, waitresses dressed in maid costumes act as servants, and treat customers as masters (and mistresses) in a private home, rather than as café patrons.
