Back in August, I visited my hometown, Miyazaki, with two of my friends. Miyazaki is located in southwest Kyushu and has delicious food and unique beach culture. I recommend visiting in summer to experience the culture for yourself!
Since the COVID travel ban is expected to continue for a relatively long period of time, I feel that rediscovering Japan as a travel destination is more urgent and important. So in this video, I hope to show you some great travel ideas around Miyazaki!

**Travel tutorial for traveling to Miyazaki
Flying is the most efficient way to travel to Miyazaki from most areas around Japan. Low-cost carriers such as Jetstar or peach are very popular and affordable options. You can find round-trip tickets from around 10,000 – 15,000 yen roundtrip. Some people choose to take a bullet train to Fukuoka from mainland Japan and a second train or bus from Fukuoka to Miyazaki, but DO NOT do this! You will end up wasting your precious time and money. Flying directly from Kansai or Tokyo with an LCC will leave you with more time and money to enjoy in Miyazaki.

If you live in the Kansai area, another option is to travel by ferry from Kobe to Miyazaki. My friends and I wanted to bring our car with us, so we decided to take the ferry this time. It’s an overnight ferry that leaves Kobe around 7 pm and arrives in Miyazaki around 8:30 AM. For passengers without a car, the fare ranges from about 15,000 JPY to 32,000 JPY depends on what class you choose. For passengers with a car, please check the Miyazaki car ferry website because the fare can differ based on the size of your car. My friends and I decided to stay in a bunk bed in the second class. If you don’t mind staying in a dormitory-style guest house, you would enjoy this room. Unfortunately, the public is unavailable for most of the trip. On the contrary, my favorite experience onboard was bathing in the public bath while watching the ocean!
