I went to Nagasaki’s Peace Park and Hypocenter Park.
There were people taking pictures with the Peace Statue and the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Falling Center Monument in the background, which is emotionally bewildering because this park has a different significance than a tourist place for fun.
It is true, however, that I am also shooting images here. To my credit, I want to record what I saw and came here as a video, and I also want to remind myself of peace in this place where the atomic bomb was dropped, and I want the people who saw the video to think about it as well.

Now, however, the fact that we can take photos in such a place is proof that we are in a very peaceful place. And even if it is treated as a tourist attraction, a visit to this place reminds us, in no small part, of war and peace, and gives us an opportunity to think again.

No more War! No more Nagasaki and Hiroshima!

長崎の平和公園と爆心地公園に行ってきました。
「平和祈念像」や「長崎原子爆弾落下中心地碑」を背景にして、記念写真を撮っている人たちがおり、楽しむための観光場所とは違う意義がここにはあるので、気持ち的にはモヤモヤします。
ただし、私もここで映像を撮影していることは事実です。自分の名誉のために言うと、ここに来たこと見たことを映像として記録しておきたいことと、原子爆弾が投下されたこの場所で改めて平和について思いをはせたい、映像を見た人にも考えてもらいたいという意図があります。

さて、しかしながら、このような場所で呑気にも記念写真を撮影できるということは、今ここはとても平和であることの証拠に他なりません。そして観光名所としての扱いであっても、ここに訪れることは少なからず戦争と平和を想起させ、我々に改めて考える機会を与えてくれます。
