one of most beautiful landscapes in Japan can be observed while walking this easy trail around the Mikurigaike pond and towards the Raichosawa Hut and campsite. poisonous sulfur smoke rising from the volcanic valley can be dangerous at times and there is an alarm system that would warn climbers to evacuate!! this place is starting to visit in any season giving you have good weather like we are lucky to have this time!! we went here at the beginning of August however it is also very famous for the Autumn foliage if you combine it with the Kurobe dam and gorge visit along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route!! in Winter better said April because it is only open from April you can observe the amazing phenomenon of a 20 m tall snow wall and walk in between!! in Spring there are many cute flowers while there is still snow so I really hope to come here again and again even if it is a little bit tricky when you come from Tokyo and don’t own a car actually towards the tip you will be forced to use cable cars and their buses anyway. but it totally worth the hustle. staying here overnight is a must to give you a chance to see the sunrise and sunset and also to eat the extremely delicious dishes of Mikurigaike Onsen and bathe in their natural locally sourced hot spring that is at the highest altitude ♨️ in entire Japan!!
