Bike ride from Niigata area to mount Haguro along the costs with a few diversions in to the mountains.
Route that I took:
This trip starts around about Murakami in Niigata prefecture and heads up the coast some way before turning in to the mountains to check out the scenery inland.
At the end of the day we head up to Haguro-san. One of the most famous temple complexes in Japan. Really nice in the cedar forests there is a huge 5 storey pagoda and 2,456 steps to climb up to get to the top. Haguro-san is one of the three mountains that make up the Dewasanzan. The other two are Mount Yudono and Mount Gassan. I spent a day climbing up Mount Haguro to visit the temples that I will make a video of shortly.
