As one of the aims of this blog was to show that Japan is affordable I was immediately drawn to the concept of “capsule hotels”. In Tokyo I was too apprehensive to give it a try. In Kyoto I took the plunge and stayed in a capsule hotel. it met my basic needs of a good nights sleep at an affordable price. Therefore for Osaka I made an internet booking in a capsule hotel through AGOGA. In retrospect I should have been more adventurous and tried a 24 hour Cybercafe that offers a “night-pack” for half the cost of a capsule hotel.
The other aspect of Osaka that struck me was the sheer number of people downtown. I did not get impression in Tokyo but it sure hit me here.
