(6/6) Some of Tom’s favorite moments with the Mirai have been centered around educating fellow drivers and sharing his experiences as a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle owner. When the Tustin Toyota dealership ran out of white Mirais to showcase, Tom drove out and met with a potential buyer to show him what the white model looked like. When a small crowd of curious guests at a local event were interested in exploring how the car worked, Tom opened up the hood and let them sit on the driver’s seat. He even keeps a small stack of Mirai pamphlets in his rear seat to pass out when needed. “The technology is so new that most people don’t have any idea about what the concept of a fuel cell is,” Tom says. “I always try to tell people [how] it runs on hydrogen and explain how it operates.” For more info on Mirai, check out the link in our bio.
