This is a short video of my trip to Nagoya in Japan, the 4th largest city by population of the country.
In this trip, I took the Shinkansen from Shinagawa station in Tokyo to Nagoya that took me about 97 minutes. Shinkansen stops at either Tokyo station or Shinagawa station which I chose the latter as it’s not as crowded as the former. I took the Hikari series train which was covered under JR Pass, one of the fastest train than Kodama, which took longer as it stops at almost every station.
I will be making a separate video on riding on the JR shortly and what you need to do/follow to allow a seamless purchase (collection) of your JR upon arriving in Japan. Do not worry for language is surely not a barrier, so long you have the information on where and when you are going, it is very easy!
I arrived at Nagoya closed to 2pm and after checking in to my hotel that was near Nagoya station and rested for a short while, I went out to roam around. I found myself back to Nagoya station via Esca underground shopping center, and it’s vicinity as there are many departmental stores (Takashimaya and Tokyu Hands, among all others), shops, restaurants and eateries, supermarkets and convenience stores.
I had my dinner at one of the local restaurants within a short walk from my hotel that offered nice and reasonable priced food items, including ramen, teriyaki pork and fried rice. Although I did not video my dinning as it was not too polite to do, I did take photographs. Do check with them out in my Tripadvisor, Facebook or Instagram!
Do stay tune to more of my videos in Japan and the rest of the world as I “walk-around the world”!
