Tokyo represents the biggest city in Japan. Who knew a mini ghibli world (metaphor) existed in the countryside of East Tokyo.

Just a few stations away from the center of Tokyo, Kurochaya is a 250-years-old ancient Japanese house of Shoya residence, where you can enjoy charcoal-grilled Japanese traditional cuisine with seasonal vegetables and fish carefully picked from the mountain and river. From the food course, you can taste warm and cold, light and strong, rare and cooked flavors that are gently organized in each plate, creating a beautiful and tasteful harmony in your mouth. Tenderly staged healthy Summer Japanese food brought by all the goodness of Wa culture. The balance of flavors and food choices are incredible ー great umami leaving no tenacious taste behind. An experience that will make you feel grateful of the peaceful and harmonious Wa culture of Japan. The scenery of Akigawa Valley is absolutely beautiful you will be surprised this is Tokyo. Perfect for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy city.

My first time to visit such a place in Tokyo. Cant believe there’s no English website for this place, might as well work on it myself. After Kurochaya, you can enjoy hotspring (ranked 7th in Tokyo) a few minutes away by bus. Watch the vid and you basically went there. Would say the food is very pricy and you might need some language assistance to get around, no one speaks English, the place seemed more like a tourist spot for local Japanese.
