Hozenji yokocho alley retains an old time atmosphere similar to Kyoto’s Pontocho. There is Hozenji Temple at one end of the alley and more than 60 traditional restaurants and izakaya along it’s narrow path. Hozenji Temple is an attraction tourists must visit where not only local merchants but visitors also pour water over the temple’s statues for luck.
Admission to the temple is free.
Hours vary according to restaurants.
