Air Canada New Aeroplan: Everything You Need to Know | The New Aeroplan Loyalty Program Highlights
Air Canada’s newly redesigned Aeroplan program kicks in starting November 8, 2020. Today, I will give you a brief summary of changes that are coming to this new Aeroplan Points program.
Aeroplan Longer Expiration & Earn Structures
Points will expire in 18 money, instead of 12 months. You will be earning based on the amounts you pay, not based on miles flown.
No More Fuel Surcharges
Those ridiculous, hated by everyone surcharges or fuel fees or carrier fees/surcharges will be eliminated. There will be a flat $39 Cad fees to book partner flights.
Every Seat Is A Reward Seat
No more seat restrictions, blackouts. You will be able to book any Air Canada seats that are available based on the market value. There will be options to pay using points+ cash or points only. Partners’ seats will be based on fixed points.
There will be 4 travel zones. North America, South America, Atlantic, Pacific.
There will be more use of points such as to upgrade to business class, to purchase WiFi, pay baggage fees, to enter elite lounges.
Points Sharing
Join a group and pool points together to earn or redeem. Up to 8 members allowed. This is a good feature for families.
Stopvers+ Open-Jaws
Spend 5000 points to add a 2nd destination on a one-way trip. Add Open- Jaws for free on a round-trip. I explained what is an Open-Jaw in the video.
