It’s been a while since Sydney & Europe, this is part 4 of 6 showcasing many sites I saw on our very quick paced Japan trip. My Dad was invited to Tokyo for a conference, during my university break. So a close friend of dad’s, Trevor, Thomas and I flew to Osaka. Our fast passed journey would also cover Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Tokyo. It was a busy 10 days, but we came away with an amazing trip seeing the culture and many sights of this incredible place.
Oh Tokyo, what a busy city! With 5 days and with Dad off on his conference, Thomas and I set off to Shinjuku and went night exploring using Hilton Bus transportation. The following day we hit a few sites on our list meeting up with Trevor to navigate the crazy JR rail system. On the next day, we set off to have a day exploring DisneySea which allowed my inner child to come out! I love all things Disney, Ariel is my favourite princess, so it was so cool to see The Mermaid Grotto! DisneySea wasn’t super busy and we found it fascinating to people watch and soak up the Japanese Disney culture atmosphere! The Toy Story alien custard dumplings were also so delicious! Stay tuned for Toyko Pt 2: Disneyland and Pt 3 for the final days and even more sites to see in Tokyo.
For great travel advice around Japan, we had done a fair bit of research on places to go in Tokyo and the other cities at It was easy to navigate website that I would really recommend to get a feel for direction in each city and learn about the top rated tourist destinations you can visit.
Feel free to check out my Thailand series and my 11 part UK/Europe adventures, captured in 2015. Lastly, watch this space for more travel videos to come. Thanks for watching and let the wanderlust continue…
