Starting end of March each year, the people in Japan are celebrating the arrival of spring and the much-loved “sakura” (or cherry blossom) — seen as the national flower and a great symbol of hope and renewal. The viewing phenomenon — also called the hanami — has been celebrated for centuries. In view of the beauty of these blooms, it is no wonder that a lot of people all around the world join the Japanese tradition and celebrate the Hanami festivals in their own cities as well!
