Landing in Hiroshima we had to have okonomiyaki. Since the city is known for having the best okonomiyaki in Japan. One of my goals in life was to visit Rabbit Island. I was able to be a real life Disney Princess with my sidekick bunnies coming to me without fear. Being a proud usagi (rabbit) owner I didn’t want to leave. Our next stop was Kyoto. I rented us a Air BnB for the night to be able to stay in a traditional Japanese home with the futons on the ground for us. Fushimi Shrine has also been on my bucket list because of a classic favorite of mine Memoirs of a Geisha. The scene where Chiyo meets the Chairman and happily runs down the gates. Also because Shigeru Miyamoto got inspiration for Star Fox at Fushimi Shrine also. I’ll definitely be going back to Kyoto the next time we’re in Japan. I would want to dedicate at least a week there when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
